Inner Landscape

2005

House exterior and landscape design in Tinos
St. Romano, Tinos
150 m²

The house by St. Romano beach may have a wonderful view on the seaside, but its owners prefer to spend most of their time in the back yard and the garden of the house, which create a special landscape at this side of the house – a protected inner landscape. Around the house there are many fruit trees, which –together with the slate yard– create a different space and scale in relation to the house and the surrounding landscape. Also the slate yard created different levels: starting from the water tank, down to the small, shallow water ponds, then to the area of the orchard and ending at the “area of the fire”, where the food is cooked in a traditional way. So, the surround space is closely linked tothe house and the daily needs of its owners.
